The CONCERTO project proudly participated in a workshop organized by GIFAS on November 19, 2024, focusing on the certification and safety challenges raised by new technologies in the aviation sector. This exclusive event, hosted by the "Operational Safety" Working Group of the GIFAS R&D Commission, brought together industry leaders to address critical topics like artificial intelligence, hydrogen-powered aviation, and electronic integration.
During the workshop, representatives from Dassault Aviation and ONERA, key partners of CONCERTO, presented the first results of the project. The discussion highlighted:
The CONCERTO Certification Process
From CONOPS (Concept of Operations) specification to gap analysis and the development of new Means of Compliance (MOCs) for certifying innovative aeronautical concepts.
Lessons Learned
Insights gained from gap analysis for emerging technologies, including Active Wing (AW), High Voltage Distribution (HVD), and Hydrogen Integration (H₂).
Digital Certification Framework
Steps towards building a comprehensive framework to facilitate and modernize the certification of next-generation innovations.
GIFAS's agenda underscored critical trends and challenges in certification, including:
Adoption of new certification principles
Leveraging artificial intelligence for safety improvements
