CONCERTO Project Concludes Successful SC#11 & PMC#09 Meetings at INEGI

The CONCERTO consortium gathered in Porto on November 6–7 for the project’s 11th

Steering Committee (SC#11) and 9th Project Management Committee (PMC#09)

meetings,an important milestone as the initiative closes its third year and enters its

fourth and final phase. Hosted at the inspiring premises of INEGI – Institute of

Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, the meetings

reflected the project’s momentum, collaboration, and shared commitment to advancing

research and innovation in its field.

Celebrating Progress and Charting the Path Forward

Over two days, partners reviewed achievements to date, exchanged insights across

work packages, and aligned strategies for the project’s final stretch. Technical

presentations and discussions highlighted both the impact already generated and the

opportunities ahead as CONCERTO prepares to deliver its final outcomes.

A Behind-the-Scenes Look at INEGI’s Cutting-Edge Facilities

Among the highlights was an exclusive guided tour of INEGI’s advanced laboratories,

offering partners a close-up experience of the institute’s high-tech capabilities. Led by

Nuno Correia, whose enthusiasm brought each facility to life, the visit showcased the

powerful combination of science, passion, and hands-on innovation that defines INEGI’s

spirit.

Participants explored a range of systems and technologies, culminating in an engaging

and memorable encounter with the CONCERTO tank. Our project coordinator, Charles

Blondel de Joigny, along with several partners, dove into lively discussions, asked in-

depth questions, and interacted directly with the setup, turning the moment into a vivid

demonstration of collaborative curiosity.

A Gathering Marked by Warmth, Energy, and Teamwork

Beyond the structured sessions, the meeting days in Porto offered the consortium an

opportunity to strengthen connections, reflect on the collective journey, and renew

motivation for the months ahead. The warmth of INEGI’s hospitality and the vibrant spirit of the city provided an ideal setting for both productivity and camaraderie.

A Heartfelt Thank You

The CONCERTO team extends sincere appreciation to INEGI for hosting with such

generosity, and to all partners whose energy, commitment, and friendship continue to

fuel the project’s success. Porto leaves us not only with progress achieved, but with

renewed inspiration, reminding us that teamwork and passion are at the core of every

innovation journey.
